Wycliffe Ndwiga

The following is a biography prepared by Ndwiga:

"The artist who is twenty five years of age hails from the Kikuyu tribe of Kenya. The Kikuyu tribe is the largest tribe in Kenya and the people are very industrious.

Ndwiga from an early age had an intense interest in art. His brother, Daniel Njoroge, is the most known artist in Kenya at the moment. Daniel Njoroge learnt art from the famous artist David Shepherd. He is also the brother of David Michuki, another incredible talent!

Ndwiga recalls that when he was very young he would often spend hours each day drawing figures of humans and animals in the dusty soil of his home. One could truly say that his style and appreciation of art, particularly the 'wildlife art', was cultured in the soil of Africa." (continued below)

"Ndwiga did his primary education in his hometown, but his school did not place a great emphasis on art. Therefore, as he was determined to pursue his love of art, he asked his elder brother to start coaching him on the subject. Because art was in his blood it did not take him long to become a professional artist at an early age.

His desire is for the world to take notice of his talents as well as his compatriots who are African - incredibly gifted and well-seasoned African wildlife artists.

Ndwiga paints from home and looks after his father as well."

The person who generously contributed the photo above right, as recently returned from his own trip to Kenya and Tanzania, where a lifetime of dreams finally turned into reality. Mind you, the photo above reflected his passion for Africa - and he had never been there! Now, in his and his wife's return, they have reconfigured and enhanced their 'Africa Room'. They have kindly sent in these photos:
The paintings seen in the 'Africa Room' are by the artist Wycliffe Ndwiga - I think all were purchased from this website. Notice that the walls are so filled, that they are utilizing the ceiling!	Of note in this photo: The painting on the lower right was a customized photo on special request of the customer. He asked for a specific subject, performing a certain deed (in this case a leopard in a tree with a kill), and the exact size. After a few months, the painting was produced.
